Telus PureFibre delivers the most consistent IPTV experience in Western Canada — symmetric multi-gigabit, low jitter, and a relatively hands-off gateway compared to Bell or Rogers. The biggest gotcha is the T3200M gateway's 'Wi-Fi Optimization' feature, which is overly aggressive about device rebanding.
What works well
PureFibre 1.5 Gbps and 3 Gbps tiers are overkill for IPTV — 4K HEVC streams at 25 Mbps barely register on the bandwidth meter. Peering is excellent with both Vancouver and Calgary exchanges, so Canadian IPTV providers feel near-LAN.

What breaks: 'Wi-Fi Optimization' rebands the Fire Stick mid-stream, the T3200M's IPv6 stack occasionally hangs on stream-server SNI handshakes, and Telus's parental-controls portal blocks certain IPTV M3U URLs at the gateway level.
The reliable fix
On Telus Optik: disable 'Wi-Fi Optimization' from the My Telus app, force the Fire Stick onto IPv4 only inside the player, and whitelist IPTV M3U URLs in the parental-controls portal for the Fire Stick's MAC. These three changes solve essentially all Telus Optik IPTV complaints we see.
